Details of models under construction

The above photograph is of broad gauge locomotive "Leo" running on my layout Gatcombe.
The layout will be display at Guildex Telford on the 4th and 5th September and also at the Swindon Festival of Steam on the 11th and 12th.
The above picture is of BG locomotive Lalla Rookh.Scratchbuilt from nickel silver and brass with steel frames and home turned cast iron wheels. A Mashima motor does the driving. Since the picture was taken the tender has been lined out and coke and a crew added. Its normal job is small passenger train. The original engines worked on the South Wales Railway and were all gone by about 1875. One loco "Rob Roy" appears in a well known series of photographs as it was in an accident at Bullo in 1869.
The above picture shows locomotive Pyracmon. This has been modelled with a boiler lagged with wood. The Pyracmon class were some of the earliest locomotives to be built at Swindon.
